Prince Kofi Amoabeng, founder of the defunct UT Bank, is disappointed. He criticized former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta. Their actions contributed to his bank's collapse.
Amoabeng spoke on The Point of View with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV. He mentioned that he had a long relationship with both men. Despite this, he received no help during the financial sector clean-up.
He recalled knowing Akufo-Addo personally. The former president had visited his home in Kukurantumi. Amoabeng also considered Ofori-Atta a brother and had previously helped him financially.
When Amoabeng asked about UT Bank’s frozen accounts, Ofori-Atta redirected him to his Personal Assistant. This response left Amoabeng feeling disheartened and unsupported.
Amoabeng expressed that true friends do not abandon each other in tough times. He believes friends should communicate when making decisions that affect one another's businesses. Instead, he felt ignored and forced to focus on his own well-being.
