Komla Klutse, TV3’s presidential correspondent, shared details about Sammy Gyamfi. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board. Gyamfi met with Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.
Reports say Debrah summoned Gyamfi over a viral video. In this video, Gyamfi gifts large sums of money to Nana Agradaa. She is an evangelist and former fetish priestess.
The video shows Gyamfi beside his white Range Rover. He takes a photo with Nana Agradaa before getting into his car. Inside, he counts several bundles of US dollars.
Nana Agradaa insists he give her all the money. She grabs it from him and flaunts it to bystanders, saying she received dollars from him.
Klutse reported that Gyamfi met with the Chief of Staff in the morning. Their meeting lasted until 11:00 AM. The government is taking this issue very seriously.
Gyamfi appeared remorseful during the meeting, according to Klutse. The Chief of Staff listened to him carefully. Soon, the public will learn about President Mahama's decision on this matter.
Mahama is currently attending an African Union summit abroad. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications, commented on the situation as well. He said that once Mahama returns, he will be briefed before any further announcements are made.
Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that the government aims for high standards in governance. They acknowledge public concerns and want to show a clear departure from past issues under previous administrations.
He noted that this was part of why Debrah took action regarding Gyamfi today.
