Health Minister cautions heads of training institutions against intimidation tactics

The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has issued a warning. He cautioned heads of health training institutions against intimidation or undue influence.

On April 16, 2025, he spoke at a meeting with the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI). The Minister highlighted the need for dialogue and mutual respect. He stressed professionalism in addressing concerns within the health training sector.

His office is open to constructive discussions. However, actions that create tension will not be tolerated.

He said, “If you want to come to me or any offices in the Ministry, please let’s open our doors.” He added that no harm should occur before visiting. Discussions in his office will remain private.

The Minister expressed concern about some institutional heads inciting students. He noted that escalating issues publicly without using proper channels is problematic.

He stated, “Those who think they can incite students to demonstrate will not intimidate me.” Mr. Akandoh reaffirmed his commitment to transparent governance. He warned against attempts to undermine the Ministry’s authority.

He urged COHHETI members to prioritize open dialogue. They should seek resolutions through appropriate administrative processes.
