This evening's heavy rain caused severe flooding on the Odorkor Junction–Kwashieman road. The entire stretch is now impassable, leading to significant traffic congestion.
Motorists faced slow-moving traffic as vehicles inched through the flooded area.
This flooding follows a devastating rainstorm over the weekend. The storm lasted nearly three hours and caused widespread inundation across Accra.
Areas like Weija, Kaneshie, Adabraka, Adenta-Dodowa, and parts of Tema were heavily affected. Reports confirm at least three lives lost in Adenta and significant property damage.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) issued a weather alert earlier today. They warned of thunderstorms and varying rain intensities across parts of the country.
Residents are advised to exercise caution and avoid flood-prone areas. It’s important to stay updated with weather forecasts as the rainy season continues.
