The High Court in Accra has adjourned a contempt case against Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP Christian Tetteh Yohonu, and two senior officers to March 12, 2025, to allow further filings.
The case, filed by Theophilus Teiko Tagoe, accuses the officers of aiding land guards in taking over his land in Adjiringano.
The officers were reportedly providing security for the alleged encroachers.
During the previous hearing, it emerged that the respondents had not been personally served, prompting an apology from the applicants' lawyers.
The court has since allowed the officers to be represented by junior personnel instead of appearing in person.
The matter remains sensitive, with both parties awaiting the next hearing.
