The Eid-ul-Fitr celebration in Ho took a serious turn. Members of the Muslim community prayed for Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. She fell ill on Friday, March 28.
Worshippers also prayed for guidance for President John Dramani Mahama. They sought continued peace in the country.
Imam Muniru Ali led the prayers. He reminded worshippers that fasting teaches discipline and moral values. He urged Muslims to carry these values into their daily lives.
“The end of fasting does not mean an era of evil acts,” he cautioned. He emphasized that fearing Allah is vital for peace and harmony. Imam Ali encouraged Muslims to avoid sinful behavior after breaking their fast.
“Allah will open doors of great opportunities for those who fear Him,” he assured.
The Volta Regional Police Commander, ACP Wisdom Akorli, spoke next. He urged the Muslim community to promote peace and harmony in their neighborhoods.
Traditional rulers and security representatives attended the event. Their presence showed a shared commitment to unity and national cohesion.
