Dr. Edward Ackah Nyamike (Jnr) is the President of the Hotels Association of Ghana (HAG). He urged the government to support the hotel industry. A better environment will help tourism in Ghana.
He emphasized that the hospitality industry is crucial for tourism promotion. The government should reduce tariffs to foster growth in this sector.
Dr. Nyamike spoke during a health walk in Ho last Friday. This event was part of a year-long celebration for HAG's 50th anniversary. The theme is “50 Years of Advocacy, Perseverance and Impacting Ghana’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry.”
He also highlighted that the hospitality sector creates over 80,000 jobs. It generates revenue through taxes, levies, and foreign exchange for national development.
