Legal practitioner Thaddeus Sory has responded sharply to former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame. He accused Dame of hypocrisy, selective memory, and unethical behavior. Sory shared his statement on social media.
Sory said he felt compelled to respond based on principle. He stated, “We do not suffer spoilt children.” He took issue with Dame’s claims that Sory was obsessed or jealous.
“How can I be obsessed with a lawyer I taught last October?” he asked. This challenges Dame’s credibility and highlights inconsistencies in his actions.
Sory pointed out it was “incongruous” for Dame to represent clients from both political parties. Yet, he labeled Sory’s client’s petition against the Chief Justice as politically motivated.
Sory reminded Dame of a court incident where he “screamed” to stop him from representing the Speaker of Parliament. Later, Dame complained when Sory followed through with representation.
“It is despicably incongruous that he forgets how he went hoarse ranting about it,” Sory added.
Sory also criticized Dame's public comments on ongoing legal matters. He claimed this violates Rule 38 of professional conduct guidelines.
“What could be more unethical than a lawyer using media to prosecute cases?” he asked. He suggested that such conduct would lead to sanctions in other situations.
Sory ended on a humorous note, saying it was just him being silly. However, he made it clear this was only “Part One” of his rebuttal.
