“How is that even possible” – Sammy Gymafi reacts to Adu Boahene’s alleged GH¢8.3m payment to NDC

Sammy Gyamfi is the National Communications Officer of the NDC. He responded to allegations from Kwabena Adu Boahene. Adu Boahene is the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau.

Adu Boahene claimed that an opposition party received GHS 8.3 million. This money was allegedly meant for election results collation.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor leads the Fix The Country Movement. He asked the NDC to respond to these allegations on Facebook. Vormawor wanted a simple answer by 6 am: Did you receive any equipment from National Security?

Sammy Gyamfi questioned how it would be possible for the NPP government to fund the NDC. He found it foolish to suggest that they would help their opposition win elections. Gyamfi asked, “How could they buy equipment for us?”

In his letter from EOCO custody, Adu Boahene denied stealing public funds. He assured that he and his wife would never take what does not belong to them. He questioned how one could steal without being flagged by the Auditor-General.

Adu Boahene stated that part of GHS 49 million funded elections in 2020 and 2024. He alleged that $500,000 was used for communications equipment for an opposition party. Additionally, he mentioned GHS 7,285,000 spent on logistics and allowances for the 2020 elections.

He also noted GHS 6,764,000 was allocated for logistics and allowances for December 2024 elections. These funds aimed to ensure stability and peaceful polling in Ghana.
