Manasseh Azure Awuni, an award-winning investigative journalist, has raised concerns. He questions how anyone can attack Thaddeus Sory's credibility after seeing alleged CCTV footage.
The viral video claims to show a meeting between Sory and a Justice. Sory is a legal representative for one of the petitioners in the Chief Justice probe. In the video, he is seen dining with Kotei Dzani, a former Council of State member.
Justice Asiedu was unaware of Sory's presence until alerted by Justice Kulendi. After a brief conversation, they continued their separate activities. No meeting about the petition took place.
The video also shows that committee chair Justice Pwamang was not present at the restaurant as claimed. Manasseh reacted on X, expressing disbelief at attacks on Sory's credibility.
He questioned why judges and a prominent lawyer would meet publicly if they intended to plot secretly. He suggested they would choose a private location instead.
Alfred Ababio Kumi alleged that Justices Gabriel Pwamang and Samuel Adibu-Asiedu met with Thaddeus Sory on May 15 at Santoku Restaurant. He claimed they were overheard discussing matters related to the petition.
Kumi, known as an NPP member, has been arrested by National Security. MP Ekow Assafuah reported that Kumi was taken from his home by armed men believed to be from the National Intelligence Bureau.
Kumi’s mother confirmed that eight armed operatives arrived while he was bathing. They claimed they only wanted to speak with him but ended up taking him away forcefully.
She described how officers broke into their home and damaged doors to gain access.
