Human Beast Story: 4 Appear In Ho Court Today

The Victim - Fred Odum After the Attack

The Attorney General's Office has instructed police in Ho to charge four people. This includes a pastor, for attempted murder and conspiracy to steal. They are also charged with stealing from a driver of the Adaklu District Assembly.

The suspects are Abraham Atidama, Francis Atsu Adzasu, Patrick Kwame Agbeshie, and Prophet Johnson Togoe. They are expected to appear in Ho High Court today.

The advice from Elorm Fugah Esq., Assistant State Attorney, outlines the charges. The charges include conspiracy to steal and attempted murder under the Criminal Offences Act of 1960. The police must obtain statements from the suspects regarding these offences.

They should conduct committal proceedings after filing the Bill of Indictment. Police were advised to serve copies of charged statements on the accused persons. The original case docket must be forwarded for prosecution.

In August 2023, the Police Intelligence Department (PID) received information about a murder case. They launched an investigation into this incident.

On November 15, 2024, PID located victim Fred Odum after months of gathering intelligence. He confirmed that on August 11, 2023, his motorbike had a puncture while returning home.

Odum pushed his bike to a nearby mechanic shop where all but one suspect worked. Shortly after entering the shop, suspect Abraham Atidama attacked him with a cutlass.

Atidama shouted that Odum was a thief, attracting attention from others nearby. The suspects then severely beat him with sticks and metal rods.

They tied his hands and legs with electric wire and attached him to a vehicle. Patrick Agbesi Kwame drove off while dragging Odum along the road for about 500 meters.

Odum screamed in pain until he fell unconscious. He suffered injuries on his forehead, chest, arms, legs, and genitals; blood flowed from these wounds.

Atsu Adzasu believed Odum was dead and dumped him in nearby bushes. Good Samaritans later took him to Ho Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Police issued a medical report form for Odum's injuries. Medical evidence revealed multiple lacerations and severe trauma signed by Dr. Mawuwenyo A. Oyortey.

On November 14 and 15, 2024, police arrested all four suspects based on intelligence operations. Each suspect admitted their involvement in their caution statements.
