I'll contribute my quota to the development of the health sector – Health Minister assures

The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, is committed to improving Ghana’s healthcare system. He called for unity and respect among all health workers.

In a press address on April 24, Mr. Akandoh expressed his desire to collaborate with everyone in the sector. He emphasized that past disagreements should not hinder progress.

"I am prepared to work with everybody," he stated. "Let’s come together for the betterment of health care."

Mr. Akandoh shared a personal story to highlight his message. He recalled being treated at Nyinahin District Hospital after an accident.

"It can happen to anybody," he said. "I never imagined I would be there, but I was."

He pledged to contribute positively to the healthcare sector from his position.

The Minister also addressed concerns about tensions between the government and medical staff. This follows recent issues at Tamale Teaching Hospital.

He assured healthcare workers of his respect for them. "I have no intention to disrespect any doctor or health worker," he affirmed.
