Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Senior Presidential Advisor, is optimistic about the government’s performance. She shared her thoughts on Facebook, stating, “so far, so great.”
In her post on May 5, she noted rising approval ratings and a strong electoral mandate. She believes these factors are reasons for hope.
Mogtari mentioned that President John Dramani Mahama's administration received 57% of the popular vote. She stated that “120 days in, the signs of progress are undeniable.”
She also discussed an important next step: launching a new Code of Conduct and Ethics. This will help maintain public trust.
“Today, President Mahama takes a bold step forward,” she said. He will formally launch this Code, which applies to all public office holders and their close associates.
The aim is to eliminate conflicts of interest. The policy includes a ban on political appointees acquiring state assets.
Mogtari explained that the Code establishes enforcement mechanisms for transparency and accountability. It clarifies the scope of the ban to ensure compliance.
According to her, this framework sends a clear message against conflicts of interest. Public office should be viewed as a sacred trust, not a way to gain personal wealth.
