I'm not running for President in 2028 elections - Napo

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the 2024 running mate to NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has made a clear statement. He will not run for office in the 2028 elections.

This announcement comes before a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Accra. The meeting will discuss important decisions for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking to journalists at a party event, he addressed rumors about his future plans. "Personally, I am not running in 2028," he stated.

He emphasized that party unity is his main focus. He is committed to ensuring this unity within the NPP.

The NEC meeting aims to outline strategies for the future. It will also address concerns about party performance and unity.

Former President Akufo-Addo and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have arrived at Alisa Hotel for the meeting.

The NPP recently faced defeat against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the general elections.
