A video has surfaced online showing Gyamfi and Nana Agradaa. In the video, Agradaa asks for US dollar notes from Gyamfi’s vehicle. He then counts several dollar bills, which Agradaa takes and shows to onlookers.
Gyamfi addressed the backlash on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He clarified that his gesture was part of his “daily and life-long custom” to help those in need.
He expressed regret that this act of kindness became public. “I never imagined it would find its way into the public space,” he wrote.
Mr. Gyamfi acknowledged the disapproval from various groups, including his political allies. He offered a heartfelt apology for what he called an "act of indiscretion."
“I am sincerely sorry for this unfortunate act,” he stated, respecting those who were hurt by it.
He also thanked supporters who reached out during this difficult time. Their encouragement meant a lot to him.
Gyamfi reaffirmed his commitment to public service. He believes that holding public office is a privilege to serve society and help others.
