I’ll punish appointees who will flout Code of Conduct – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to strict sanctions. He will penalize appointees who violate the Code of Conduct for public officials.

The Code of Conduct was released on May 6. It aims to promote professionalism, civility, and ethical governance in public service.

In a national address on May 7, President Mahama emphasized firm disciplinary action for breaches. “I will bring down the hammer swiftly and strongly,” he warned.

The Code outlines specific ethical guidelines. It bans using public funds for festive hampers or accepting gifts over GHC20,000.00. This is meant to prevent waste and promote integrity in government.

Ghana’s agricultural initiatives have been criticized as lacking substance, according to Prof. Kanton.
