I’m ready to reconstruct burnt Adum market – Bryan Acheampong

Bryan Acheampong, the MP for Abetifi, has made a promise. He will fully fund the reconstruction of the Adum BlueLight section in Kumasi. This area was recently destroyed by fire. His commitment depends on approval from the Asantehene and city authorities.

Acheampong announced this during a visit to the market. He also donated GHS 300,000 to help affected traders. The fire occurred on March 21 and caused significant damage. Many traders are struggling to resume their businesses.

Without official clearance for reconstruction, some traders have built temporary structures. These makeshift buildings are not stable and need support.

Acheampong plans to consult with local leaders for project approval. He wants to engage with the Asantehene, who is currently out of the country. If he gets permission, they aim to rebuild within 12 months.

He stated that they will create strong infrastructure and clean up the area. New stores will be built so traders can return to normalcy in their lives.
