I’m unemployed, bring my commission – Napo jokingly confronts Comedian OB Amponsah

Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as Napo, recently addressed comedian OB Amponsah. He humorously criticized Amponsah for using his name in a comedy show without sharing profits.

Napo expressed his feelings to the media. He said, “If a comedian uses my name and fills halls, I’m happy.” He thanked Amponsah for promoting his name for free. However, he jokingly mentioned that he might have lawyers contact him about sharing revenue since he is unemployed.

While it’s unlikely he will send legal letters, Napo's comments reflect a trend. Politicians are increasingly becoming part of pop culture, whether they intend to or not.

OB Amponsah often includes political figures in his routines. The audience usually responds with laughter and approval.

Dr. Prempeh seems to be enjoying the attention. He embraces the publicity while playfully suggesting that his name has become valuable.
