I apologise to Nayiri, Mamprusi youth over my Bawku comment - Inusah Fuseini

Former MP for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has apologized. He addressed the Nayiri, the Mamprugu Youth, and the Council of Chiefs. This was due to comments he made about the Bawku conflict.

Fuseini spoke on JoyNews' Newsfile. He explained that his remarks were spontaneous. The discussion was not originally about the Bawku crisis. He did not intend to stir anger with his comment.

He clarified that he aimed to promote peace, not take sides. However, he recognized that his words upset the Nayiri and Mamprugu Kingdom.

"It was unfortunate my views seemed to support the Kusasi position," he said. "That was never my aim. I am Dagomba but was labeled as Kusasi."

He reflected on how his comments affected the Mamprusi people. They were not meant to disrupt or undermine traditional authority. He wanted to suggest a way to achieve justice and peace in Bawku.

On Newsfile, Mr. Fuseini offered a heartfelt apology: "I render an unqualified apology to Mamprugu's youth, Nayiri, and his Council."

"It was never my intention to hurt anyone," he added. "On this Holy Saturday, I hope my apology is accepted by all."
