Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is optimistic about reforms. He believes the Mike Ocquaye report will bring necessary changes to the party.
On Wednesday, April 23, he spoke at the NPP headquarters in Accra. This was ahead of the party’s Thank You Tour. Dr. Bawumia called the report a blueprint for internal democracy and future victories.
He praised Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye and his committee for their work. He described their assessment as comprehensive and honest. “This report is not just a document; it is a call to action,” he stated.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the recommendations are timely and essential for rejuvenation. The findings resulted from consultations with party members, executives, and stakeholders.
He highlighted key reform areas from the report. These include enhanced transparency in elections, improved communication, and stronger youth engagement. “We must be bold in implementing these reforms,” he added.
He assured party members that leadership would focus on accountability and inclusiveness moving forward. The Thank You Tour will help connect with supporters and share a renewed vision.
He concluded with a rallying call: “Let us embrace renewal together.” He urged unity among party members to move forward as one NPP—stronger than ever before.
The event included several top party executives, regional chairpersons, and youth leaders in attendance.
