Retired Colonel Festus Aboagye has refuted reports claiming he criticized President John Mahama’s National Security appointments as unconstitutional.
In a statement dated January 18, Col. Aboagye dismissed the allegations as fabrications aimed at misrepresenting his views.
“I categorically reject the claim that I criticized the appointments. This is a deliberate attempt to misconstrue my statements,” he clarified.
Instead, he expressed concerns about past recruitment and training practices for operatives, which he argued violated constitutional provisions. He called on the new administration to reform the system and address gaps to handle pressing issues like the Bawku conflict effectively.
Col. Aboagye reaffirmed his commitment to providing accurate and constructive national security insights.
