I hold no personal grudge against Akufo-Addo – Former Subin MP

Eugene Boakye Antwi, the former MP for Subin, has no grudge against former President Akufo-Addo.

He disagreed with Akufo-Addo about not reshuffling his ministers. Despite this disagreement, he still considers him a successful president.

Antwi mentioned that he expected certain decisions from Akufo-Addo that did not happen. He spoke during a panel discussion on Peace FM.

“I had my disagreement with the president,” he said. “He did not want to reshuffle his ministers.” He emphasized that this was his only issue with the president.

Antwi added, “I supported him to be president. However, I disagreed when he failed to make some decisions.” He believes acknowledging good actions of the president is important.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia admitted that the previous government’s mistakes led to their 2024 election defeat. Many see this as him criticizing his former boss.

Dr. Bawumia pointed out that the lack of ministerial reshuffles contributed to their loss. He also mentioned issues like hardship and arrogance in governance.

Speaking in Takoradi on April 26, Dr. Bawumia noted key complaints from citizens included high living costs and debt restructuring problems.

He stated, “For eight years we never listened to our party's advice.”
