President-elect John Dramani Mahama has vowed to prioritize Ghana’s youth, inspired by their enthusiasm during his campaign.
In an interview with DW TV on December 16, Mahama expressed a “humble sense of responsibility” to fulfill the high expectations of young Ghanaians. He emphasized the need for a national “reset” to create opportunities and an inclusive environment where the youth can thrive.
Mahama’s decisive victory in the December 7 elections, with 56.55% of the vote, underscored his appeal, especially against his rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP, who secured 41.61%.
Acknowledging the challenges of unemployment and limited opportunities, Mahama pledged to work towards a future where all young Ghanaians can realize their full potential, regardless of their background.
