I’ll follow the truth, no matter what – Rev. Ntim Fordjour on media smear allegations

In an exclusive interview with Paul Adom Otchere, Rev. Ntim Fordjour denied accusations related to a Joy FM episode. He is the Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee.

Fordjour accused show host Samson Lardy Anyenini of reading false text messages. He described this as part of a planned smear campaign against him.

“I wasn’t there to just talk about rumors,” Fordjour said. He claimed the situation was misrepresented and that the messages were not from him or the public. “It was a deliberate attempt to tarnish my reputation,” he added.

Fordjour noted that the atmosphere on set was disrespectful before his segment began. He had been invited to discuss investigations into suspicious flights and cocaine seizures. However, he was replaced by another panelist after his first segment.

As he left, Fordjour expressed shock at Lardy reading “diabolic” messages questioning his integrity. He stated these messages were not sent by the public.

When he asked Lardy about their source, Lardy claimed they came from his producer. However, the producer denied sending any such messages.

“I asked Samson where he got these messages,” Fordjour explained. “His response was that his producer sent them, but when I spoke to the producer, they denied it.” He mentioned having a witness present during this exchange.

Despite these accusations, Fordjour emphasized he did not want personal attacks or insults. Instead, he focused on transparency in ongoing investigations into national security matters.

He argued that reading fabricated messages distracted from serious issues like narcotics trafficking investigations. “I am not perturbed by their personal attacks,” he stated firmly.

“What I care about are serious issues that need addressing,” Fordjour continued. He questioned why there is resistance to open investigations into suspicious flights and cocaine seizures.

As a reverend minister and Member of Parliament, Fordjour vowed to push for accountability in national security issues despite personal attacks against him.

He pointed out past drug busts involving large sums of money that remain unaddressed. “Why are they trying to silence me?” he asked rhetorically.

“They don’t want to confront the facts,” he asserted. The public deserves to know the truth about flights linked to drug trafficking and money laundering.

In closing, Fordjour made it clear he would not back down from these allegations. He will continue demanding proper investigations into national security matters.

“I will follow these issues until the truth comes out,” he declared resolutely. “Let’s see what they are really hiding.”
