I’m a good candidate and I will win – Wontumi declares intent to become NPP’s next National Chairman

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, wants to be the next National Chairman. He believes his dedication and support make him the right choice.

In an interview with Oheneba Aseidu on Wontumi TV, he stated, “I’ve been consistent and selfless.” He added that he has always sacrificed for the party. “Everything I’ve done has come from my own pocket,” he said. He emphasized that he has never held a government position.

Chairman Wontumi shared his contributions over the years. In 2014 and 2018, he paid for all forms for polling station and constituency aspirants. “In 2022, I did the same but focused on the Ashanti region,” he noted. He even covered nomination forms for his opponent.

His commitment extends beyond regional efforts. He financed the 2015 NPP National Congress in Tamale with one billion old cedis. This was part of his effort to push the party forward during a crucial time.

Wontumi also distributed uniforms, books, and pens across the country from 2014 to 2016. “I didn’t wait for the party to ask; I just did it,” he recalled.

As a former Bosomtwe Constituency Chairman, Wontumi is now in his third term as Regional Chairman. He feels it’s time to lead at the national level.

“I’ve served this party faithfully,” he said. He built a constituency office from scratch when he was chairman. Additionally, he has paid monthly contributions to the national office and sponsored every youth event in the region. “What else is left to prove?” he questioned.
