I’m enjoying my work at BoG – Isaac Adongo to constituents

Isaac Adongo, the MP for Bolgatanga Central, enjoys his work at the Bank of Ghana. He serves on three important committees: the Risk Committee, the Economy Committee, and the Budget Committee.

In an interview with JOYNEWS, he explained his commitment. During the Goldbod discussions, he could not visit home. He needed to support Sammy Gyamfi with the passage of Goldbod.

Adongo mentioned that when it was time to choose a finance minister, there were challenges. Dr. Ayine was already Attorney General. It was difficult for others to take on parliamentary roles.

He stated, “I am enjoying my work there.” He chairs the Budget Committee and finds it exciting. The committee aims to improve Ghana's negative net worth of about 63 billion cedis.

His remarks come after concerns from constituents about ministerial appointments by President John Dramani Mahama. The Bolgatanga Central Youth Wing previously rejected Adongo’s appointment to the Bank of Ghana board. They questioned why he did not receive a ministerial role instead.
