Former MP for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, is not surprised. National Security and CID operatives are seeking more information from Alfred Ababio Kumi. Kumi is known as Adenta Kumi and made allegations against judiciary members.
Fuseini spoke on the AM Show on JoyNews. He noted that Kumi's claims raised public concern. This is especially true given their implications for the ongoing petition against the Chief Justice.
He stated, “The allegations he made drew serious concern from the public.” He added that only legal professionals doubted the likelihood of such meetings occurring.
Adenta Kumi has petitioned the President to dissolve the committee investigating the Chief Justice. He claims he saw justices meeting with counsel for one of the petitioners.
Fuseini believes these claims are central to Kumi’s petition and need investigation. He explained, “The whole basis of Adenta Kumi's petition is this alleged meeting.”
If justices met with counsel, it suggests possible conspiracy against the Chief Justice. This could undermine trust in the process and suggest bad faith among those involved.
Focusing on whether such a meeting occurred is crucial for Kumi’s petition. If they acted in bad faith, they should not be on the committee.
“If there are no facts supporting this claim, then the petition cannot stand,” he said.
Fuseini emphasized that if Kumi's reason for his petition involves collusion, it must be taken seriously.
