Kwame Asare-Obeng, known as A Plus, is the MP for Gomoa Central. He stated that he funded his own parliamentary campaign. He did not receive help from any political "big man."
In an interview on Channel One TV's Upside Down Show, he emphasized his financial independence. A Plus said his campaign was self-funded from beginning to end.
"I ran my campaign without asking for one cedi," he declared confidently. He also mentioned that he has strong support from grassroots voters.
On election day, A Plus faced attempts to manipulate the process. Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) tried to interfere. However, he stood firm against their actions.
"Ask them about election day," he urged. "They came with their skirmishes, but I showed them who represents the street."
