Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, is the MP for Gomoa Central. He has hinted at a possible presidential run in the future.
A Plus shared his political motivations on Channel One TV. He said he wants to show that anyone can achieve their goals. He emphasized focusing on personal achievements instead of debating others' capabilities.
He mentioned that he was given a job but faced challenges. When they realized he wouldn’t stay quiet, they pulled back. A Plus stated, “I’m not the kind to be reserved.”
He still believes in the NPP leadership and values his relationships within the party. However, he expressed contentment with his current position. “I want to be everything. Maybe even president one day,” he said.
Despite his ambitions, A Plus clarified that he will never be a minister. He prefers living freely and enjoying time with friends without constraints.
Recently, A Plus apologized for inappropriate remarks about Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine. He acknowledged that his tone and words were not suitable for a Member of Parliament.
He also denied involvement in the NSS ghost names scandal. A Plus explained that he only assisted someone seeking media support to clear their name.
His contact with the issue was limited to November 2024 when approached by an individual claiming false accusations. He believes everyone deserves to be heard in such cases.
