I may not have a card, but I’m NDC at heart – A Plus

Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, supports the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He plans to stay with the party for the foreseeable future.

He made these comments on Channel One TV's Upside Down on May 4. A Plus is the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central.

His commitment to the NDC goes beyond just being a member. “I am a member of the NDC,” he stated. “I have never inherited enemies.”

A Plus enjoys being part of the majority party. He sees himself staying with them for a long time.

He dismissed criticisms about his loyalty due to not having an official party card. He believes his principles matter more than paperwork.

“If I say I am a member of the NDC, they would say I don’t have a party card,” he explained. “But I am with the majority.”

A Plus praised NDC leadership, especially former President John Dramani Mahama. He cited Mahama’s vision for Ghana as a reason for his support.

A Plus entered Parliament as an independent candidate. Since the 2024 elections, he has aligned more closely with the NDC. This has sparked debate about his political identity in Ghana's landscape.
