I showed the love I have for NPP by giving the party GH¢1bn – Chairman Wontumi

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He expressed his immense love for the NPP.

Wontumi shared that he donated GH¢1 billion to support the national congress in Tamale. His decision to run for National Chairman stems from this love for the party.

In an interview on Wontumi Radio, he said he sponsored youth programs when he was chairman of the Bosomtwi Constituency. He also provided monthly financial support to the party's national leadership. Auntie Esther and others can confirm this.

He emphasized his dedication by stating, “The love I have for this party is immense.” Even after his constituency election in 2015, he gave all remaining funds to national leadership.

Wontumi noted that no one from the Ashanti Region has served as NPP’s national chairman before. He believes it is time for someone from that region to take on this role.

“They want someone who has been a constituency chairman,” he explained. “I have been a regional chairman and gained valuable experience.”

Chairman Wontumi officially announced his intention to contest for National Chairmanship of the NPP. He mentioned having an encounter with God before making this decision.

He hopes that leading the party will help them return to power in 2028. Speaking on Wontumi TV, he stated, “I have spoken to God and pleaded with him.”

“I will pick up my form when it’s time,” he declared confidently.
