I told them to go to hell – Prof. Gyampo on BBC’s exposé

Professor Ransford Gyampo shared that the BBC contacted him for an interview. This was before they aired their controversial report about him. He declined their request after sensing they had an agenda.

Gyampo explained his interaction with the BBC. He insisted he had done nothing wrong. “When the matter broke, they reached out to me,” he said. He showed them evidence of his ignorance regarding their claims. However, they seemed determined to proceed with their story.

Feeling frustrated, Gyampo made his position clear. “I realized they had an agenda, so I told them to go ahead!”

He described the controversy as a setup that took months to create. “It wasn’t something that happened overnight,” he noted. It was a plot that unfolded over three months.

Gyampo mentioned how he let his guard down at one point. He extended kindness to someone who later twisted his words. “What you heard or watched was voice-over narration,” he stated. Someone spoke about things he knew nothing of.

He insisted key parts of the conversation were omitted to misrepresent him. “The quotes attributed to me were taken out of context,” he said. It was not just a monologue; it was a conversation with another person’s input missing.

Gyampo also discussed how his wife reacted to the situation. He emphasized there was no tension at home during this time. “It wasn’t challenging because she knew everything,” he explained. He always shared details with her, and they never quarreled about it.
