Former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General Kwabena Adu Boahene has insisted on his innocence despite allegations of embezzling $7 million in state funds.
Following a court ruling on March 28, which reduced his bail from GH¢120 million to GH¢80 million, Adu Boahene confidently stated, "Definitely," when asked if he believed he would be cleared.
He and his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, who also faces an GH¢80 million bail, are accused of laundering funds through a private company.
The Attorney-General alleges they diverted funds meant for a cyber defence system, with reports that Angela attempted to destroy evidence.
While prosecutors argue they are flight risks, defense lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea is fighting to clear their names, calling the bail conditions excessive.
