Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, spoke candidly in an interview on Channel One TV. He discussed his political journey and ambitions. His reflections were monitored by MyNewsGh.
A Plus stated, “I entered politics to show people I can be here.” He wanted to prove that people should focus on their own achievements.
He shared his experiences with the NPP. Initially, he admired Nana Akufo-Addo and supported his presidential bid. However, his outspoken nature led to conflicts within the party.
“They gave me a job,” A Plus explained. “But when they saw I wouldn’t stay quiet, they pulled back.” He added that he expresses himself freely when hired.
Despite tensions with the NPP, A Plus holds no grudges. “I don’t inherit enemies,” he said confidently. He still believes in the party's leadership and maintains good relationships within it.
When asked about his future in politics, A Plus expressed broader ambitions. “I want to be everything. Maybe even president one day,” he said playfully. For now, he is content where he is and trusts God for what’s next.
Regarding a ministerial position, A Plus was firm: “I will never be a minister.” He values living freely and enjoying time with friends. He believes being a minister comes with too many constraints and prefers a fulfilling life without political office limitations.
