Alex Kwaku Tetteh is the president of Citizen Eye Ghana. He recently revealed he informed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) about Chairman Wontumi's home.
Tetteh acted as a whistleblower in this case. He claims to have evidence that Wontumi took $12 million from EXIM Bank. This matter is currently in court.
On Neat FM, Tetteh explained his actions. He said, “When the CID got to Kumasi, they called me in Accra.” He provided them with Wontumi's location in Kumasi. “I know every corner where he is,” he added.
Tetteh mentioned that he gave the CID five house locations. When they arrived, Wontumi asked for time to report himself. Tetteh also alleged that Wontumi received $12 million from EXIM Bank.
He stated, “If you think I’m lying, call Paul Adom Otchere or Agyin Sam at EXIM Bank.” Tetteh insists he can provide evidence for his claims.
Meanwhile, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, faces legal challenges from EXIM Bank. The bank served him a writ of summons after his interrogation by EOCO on May 27, 2025.
Wontumi’s lawyer confirmed they received this writ earlier that day. He expressed confidence in mounting a defense against it. “This is a civil matter,” Appiah-Kubi stated regarding the writ from EXIM Bank.
He assured that they would respond to the pleadings promptly and defend their position in court.
