Presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has reacted to comments from Kwame Baffoe, known as Abronye DC. Their recent clash has deepened the rift within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Agyapong expressed disappointment over Abronye's disrespectful remarks. He claims he has supported Abronye in the past. This incident occurred during an event in Berekum, as reported on Metro TV.
Agyapong said, “The way Avronia insulted me… he is a good friend.” He added that politics has changed their relationship.
He rejected calls for him to stay silent. “Everybody says, don’t say anything. I would not accept that,” he stated. Agyapong emphasized that being quiet does not mean he will be disrespected.
He believes silence in such situations would be dishonest. “It means I’ll be faking,” he explained. He cannot allow anyone to insult him publicly without responding.
To illustrate his point, Agyapong referenced boxer Mike Tyson's experience with his wife. Tyson did not realize she insulted him until they got home, which led to their divorce.
In closing, Agyapong asserted: “I’m not illiterate, but I don’t understand why Abronye thinks I should be quiet.”
