I would have resigned—Nyaho-Tamakloe slams Bawumia’s leadership

Veteran politician Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has questioned Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's leadership skills. Bawumia is the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2024 presidential candidate and former Vice President of Ghana.

In an interview on TV3’s Hot Issues, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe expressed his concerns. He believes Bawumia lacks the decisiveness needed for Ghana's next leader.

“The mess we are in requires decisive leadership,” he stated. “I doubt Dr. Bawumia has that courage as a leader.”

He emphasized that Ghana is at a critical turning point. The country faces immense economic and social pressures. Bold leadership is essential to find effective solutions.

“We have reached a point where the stakes are high,” he said. “The challenges—ballooning debt, rising unemployment, and eroded public trust—need strong leadership.”

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also criticized Bawumia’s performance as Vice President and head of the Economic Management Team.

“I am not convinced he has shown resolve,” he said. “His track record does not demonstrate the independence we need now.”

“If it were me, I would have resigned,” he asserted.
