Dennis Miracles Aboagye is an aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He recently shared his thoughts on the conflict between the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
On June 7, during JoyNews' Newsfile programme, Aboagye spoke about Ofori-Atta's situation. He said that if he were in Ofori-Atta’s position and unwell, he would stay abroad. He would prefer to face trial in absentia rather than return home.
Aboagye stated, “If I were Ken, and seeing all that has been done and I am not well, I wouldn’t come.” He added that he wouldn't mind being placed on an INTERPOL red notice.
The OSP declared Ken Ofori-Atta wanted after he missed a deadline to appear on June 2. His legal team submitted medical documents citing cancer as a reason for his absence. However, the OSP reinstated his wanted status and began steps for an INTERPOL Red Notice.
On June 5, Ofori-Atta was officially listed on INTERPOL’s Red Notice database. This listing includes details such as his age, physical description, and languages spoken.
