ICU commends govt for introducing 24-hour economy policy - Ghanaian Times

Mr. Morgan Awayine is the General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers' Union (ICU). He praised the government's 24-hour economy policy. This policy aims to create new job opportunities for young people in Ghana.

The initiative is expected to improve income for workers. It will also enhance social protection for them.

At the Ashanti Regional Council's 2025 Delegates' Conference, Mr. Awayine spoke in Kumasi on Friday. He highlighted the importance of collective bargaining among workers.

He also stressed the need for good relationships between workers and management. Equal partnership between unions and management is crucial for business profitability.
