IGP Yohuno announces major command changes in Ghana Police Service

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has announced significant changes in the Ghana Police Service's command structure. This reshuffle includes new appointments and transfers of various high-ranking officers, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and addressing current security challenges in the country. Notably, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kwesi Ofori has been appointed as the Director-General of Public Affairs, while other senior officials have been reassigned to different regions and units within the service.

These strategic changes come as part of the IGP's commitment to improving police performance and ensuring a robust response to crime and public safety concerns. The IGP emphasized that these adjustments are intended to align personnel with their strengths and experiences, thereby fostering a more effective policing environment in Ghana. As the police force navigates various security issues, these leadership changes are expected to bring renewed focus and direction to law enforcement efforts nationwide.
