Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno has reassigned 84 senior officers, including Superintendent Emmanuel Eric Gyebi and Superintendent George Lysander Asare, both implicated in the leaked tape controversy.
Gyebi has been posted to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, while Asare now serves at the Judicial Protection Unit.
Their involvement in a plot against former IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare led to a parliamentary probe, which recommended disciplinary action.
However, their new assignments have sparked concerns that they are being rewarded instead.
The reshuffle follows growing criticism of unfair promotions within the Police Service. COP George Alex Mensah, also linked to the scandal, has since retired and recently urged IGP Yohuno to address these issues.
The mass transfers raise fresh debates on accountability and reforms within the police hierarchy.
