Inspector General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno visited Bawku. He was accompanied by his investigative team. They met with victims injured in recent clashes between police and youth.
The visit aimed to assess security and improve community relations. The victims expressed gratitude to the IGP. They also requested lasting solutions to the ongoing conflict.
The team then traveled to Kusasa and Garu. They evaluated damage to property in those areas. Next, they visited the Police Training School in Nangode. There, they engaged with instructors, officers, and community members.
They also paid a courtesy call on Zugraan Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, the local overlord.
The IGP expressed regret over the incident that led to Fuseini Iddrisu’s death. He called for peace between police and youth in Bawku. He assured the community of the police's commitment to restoring order. Finally, he urged officers to remain neutral in their duties.
