IGP opens three-day workshop for regional police PROs

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, inaugurated a three-day workshop for regional police Public Relations Officers (PROs) aimed at enhancing communication strategies within the Ghana Police Service. This initiative is designed to equip the PROs with essential skills and knowledge to effectively convey information to the public and address community concerns.

During the opening ceremony, IGP Dampare emphasized the crucial role of police communication in building trust and transparency between law enforcement and citizens. He urged the PROs to utilize social media platforms wisely to disseminate timely information and engage positively with the public. The workshop also aims to foster collaboration among different regions, ensuring a unified approach to public relations within the police service.

As part of the workshop, participants will engage in various training sessions focused on effective communication techniques and crisis management. The IGP expressed confidence that these efforts would strengthen community policing initiatives and enhance overall public safety in Ghana.
