IPMC University College is a leading technology education institution in Ghana. It has integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) into all its academic programs. This positions IPMC as the nation’s technology powerhouse for AI innovation.
The announcement was made on Thursday, May 8, during a press conference. The goal is to equip every Ghanaian with world-class tech skills. These skills will help transform key sectors like agriculture, mining, finance, and security.
Gaurav Sharda, Director of IPMC University College, emphasized their commitment to tech education. He stated that every Ghanaian child should have access to cutting-edge learning. To reflect this vision, the college has rebranded its programs to include “AI.” This change applies across disciplines such as software development and cybersecurity.
Importantly, IPMC will not increase fees for these enhanced programs. They prioritize skills development over financial gain. This reinforces their mission to make IT education accessible for all Ghanaians.
To prepare for this rollout, IPMC hosted a two-day AI bootcamp on May 2-3, 2025. This training equipped faculty with deep AI expertise. They are now ready to deliver the new AI-integrated curriculum effectively.
Additionally, IPMC conducted free AI training for representatives from critical sectors before the press conference. Participants included professionals from various organizations like the Ghana Revenue Authority and the Ghana Armed Forces. This initiative shows IPMC’s commitment to fostering AI adoption in both public and private sectors.
After completing the training, participants received certificates from IPMC University College. The college aims to align education with global AI trends through its strategic platform.
By embedding AI into every curriculum, IPMC prepares students for an AI-driven world. This ensures they can innovate and lead in industries vital for Ghana’s development.
Following the training, representatives toured IPMC's state-of-the-art AI labs and systems. The tour showcased facilities where students develop real-world AI solutions.
“IPMC University College is not just teaching technology – we’re building Ghana’s future,” said Gaurav Sharda. By integrating AI into all programs and making tech education accessible, they empower youth to transform various sectors of the economy.
Mr. Asadullah, Enterprise Business Manager at IPMC University College, highlighted this as a new era for Ghanaians. He encouraged everyone to embrace technology's evolution for national development.
