Ianmatsun Global Services honours 26 for responsible business practices in Ghana

Sixteen companies and ten business leaders were honored at the 2025 Responsible Business & Leadership Excellence Awards (RBLEA). The event took place on April 26 at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. It recognized businesses and individuals committed to environmental sustainability, employee health, and community well-being.

Mr. Isaac (Nana) Adu-Gyamfi is the Event Director at Ianmatsun Global Services. He stated that the RBLEA was created to promote ethical business practices. This initiative responds to climate challenges and concerns about corporate irresponsibility.

“We are facing challenging times due to climate change,” Mr. Adu-Gyamfi said. “Some business practices harm our planet. We must recognize those making a difference.” He emphasized that the awards motivate responsible behavior.

The award criteria focus on environmental care, community engagement, and operational integrity. Financial performance is not considered in this evaluation process.

“This is not just an award for profit-making,” he explained. “We assess how operations impact the environment and communities.”

Mr. Adu-Gyamfi urged government agencies, especially the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to enforce environmental safety standards. He called for stronger collaboration between the private sector and government.

He noted that over 65 companies applied for the awards, but only 16 met strict requirements. “We don’t give awards lightly,” he said. “Our selections involve extensive research.”

Award criteria included evaluating environmental policies, waste management, worker safety measures, and community development efforts. Some companies failed to meet basic responsible business standards despite their public image.

He expressed concern about many awards in Ghana lacking credibility. “The government should oversee which companies are rewarded,” he said.

This oversight would encourage underperforming companies to improve their practices. Mr. Adu-Gyamfi assured that Ianmatsun Global Services would enhance its evaluation processes in future editions of the awards.

The RBLEA aims to set a standard for responsible business in Ghana. It promotes a culture where impact and integrity matter as much as profit.
