Ibrahim Mahama made sure I had everything I needed – Jane Naana

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang praised Ibrahim Mahama, brother of President John Dramani Mahama. She returned to Ghana after a recent illness.

At Kotoka International Airport on May 22, 2025, she expressed gratitude. She thanked God, her medical team, and the President for their support. She specifically acknowledged Ibrahim Mahama for his help.

“I want to thank all of you for your prayers and good wishes,” she said. “I can’t thank you enough. I am very grateful.”

She highlighted Ibrahim's efforts during her recovery. He ensured she had everything she needed and visited her in the hospital. “That in itself was healing,” she noted.

“I am very happy to be back,” she added. “There is so much we all have to do together.”

President John Dramani Mahama also expressed relief at her return. During a briefing, he mentioned missing her presence while she was away.

He said her absence complicated his duties, especially during a trip to Togo. This trip led to threats of impeachment from the NPP opposition.

“Everybody said you should’ve been there,” he stated. Despite challenges, they managed to fulfill many promises made to Ghanaians.

He remarked that doctors told him she seemed "20 years younger." He advised her to take it easy for a while as she resumes work.

In summary, both leaders expressed gratitude and optimism for future collaboration in serving Ghana.
