Businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama is helping Suzzy Pinamang. She is a Form 2 student at Adventist SHS. Suzzy was hit in the eye by a stray bullet fired by a classmate.
Dr. Asiwome Senadza, the Medical Director of Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital, provided updates on her condition. Initial tests were positive, but she needs more surgeries for full recovery.
Ibrahim Mahama’s aide, Rafik Mahama, spoke to Ghana Weekend on May 5. He said they are preparing to send Suzzy for treatment in India or the UK.
“The doctor advised that she should travel for further examinations,” Rafik explained. He mentioned that the first check showed positive results. A final report will be ready by today or tomorrow.
Rafik also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their quick assistance with travel documents. “I’d like to thank them for helping us get all the paperwork done quickly,” he added.
