Ibrahim Sadiq seals European football for AZ Alkmaar with late winner against Twente

Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Sadiq scored the winning goal on Sunday. He came off the bench in the final game of the season.

Sadiq's goal helped AZ Alkmaar win a thrilling match against Twente. The game ended with five goals, securing European football for next season.

Sadiq started on the bench but was substituted in at halftime. He replaced Ernest Poku when his team was trailing 1-2.

Sem Steijn had scored twice for Twente before Mexx Meerdink pulled one back for AZ. Ruben van Bommel equalized in the 53rd minute.

In added time, Sadiq completed the comeback and secured three points. His goal means he finished the 2024/25 Eredivisie season with six goals and four assists in 19 games.

AZ Alkmaar finished fifth and will play in the Conference League next season.
