Nana Ama Agyemang, a former morning show host, has spoken out. She believes the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and John Mahama should fire Sammy Gyamfi.
Sammy Gyamfi is facing criticism after a video surfaced online. In the video, he gifts large sums of money to Nana Agradaa, a fetish priestess turned pastor. The clip shows him next to his white Range Rover while taking a photo with her.
After their conversation, Gyamfi sat in his car and counted US dollars. Nana Agradaa insisted he give her all the money instead of just some. She then took the cash from him and flaunted it to bystanders, saying she received dollars from him.
In response, Nana Ama Agyemang posted on X. She asked for a statement from @GhanaPresidency that condemns Gyamfi’s actions and outlines sanctions. She stated that if they are serious about change, she expects Mahama to fire him.
Meanwhile, Sammy Gyamfi has apologized publicly for his actions. He expressed regret over what he called an unfortunate act of indiscretion. He explained that giving money is part of his custom to help those in need.
In his apology, he said he thought this act was private and did not expect it to go public. He acknowledged the criticism and expressed sorrow for hurting his comrades. He thanked those who reached out to support him during this time.
Agyemang's post read: “Can someone call me as soon as @GhanaPresidency releases a statement? If they’re serious about resetting, I expect JM to fire him.”
Another user commented that Gyamfi's actions could harm Mahama's reputation among Ghanaians. They warned that Nana Agradaa should stay away from the government due to this incident.
