If we don’t learn from the NDC, we will remain in opposition for years – Ken Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong, a former NPP Flagbearer aspirant, expressed concern about divisions within the New Patriotic Party. He believes some factions are spreading false narratives after Chairman Wontumi's arrest.

Agyapong warned that if the NPP does not unite, they may remain in opposition for a long time. He spoke to journalists on May 28, 2025.

“I am disappointed,” he said. “We should present a unified front during crises.” He criticized individuals airing personal grievances instead of supporting the party.

He emphasized that unity is crucial for winning power. “This is not the time for vendettas,” he added.

Agyapong noted how NDC MPs showed solidarity during court cases. They wore red and attended hearings together, unlike the NPP.

He urged all factions in the NPP to come together for peace and solidarity. “Internal politics is too much,” he stated.

His comments followed Alex Kwaku Tetteh’s claims about providing information to the CID regarding Wontumi's arrest. Tetteh said he gave them critical locations in Kumasi.

On Neat FM, Tetteh explained his role as a whistleblower. He claimed Wontumi had previously asserted his influence over government negotiations.

Tetteh mentioned giving five house locations to the CID when they contacted him. He also noted that Wontumi asked for more time before reporting himself.

Agyapong concluded by reiterating that learning from the NDC is essential for future success.
